We can write for 10 minutes without stopping

We use interesting events that occur around the world as inspiration.
A celebration of geometric art
Students in Room 1 have been investigating 2 dimensional shapes.
The students have been exploring these shapes by using the art techniques of Henri Mattisse.

New Zealand Sign Language
It's New Zealand Sign Language Week and Room 1 are learning our National Anthem in NZ sign!
Here is the video we are using to support our learning!
We are also learning how to spell our name by learning the NZ sign alphabet. We know how to use online resources to help us to learn new information.

International Day of Dance during Week 2 of Term 2 was lots of fun!
Our Auraki Whanau (English Mainstream) enjoyed hip hop, Abba and even a bit of a chicken dance to kick start our day!

Week 4! Student's of the week
Week 4 is upon us and it is time for us to celebrate our next group of children who have made fantastic choices about their learning.

Our students have been writing songs about Kiwiana! we listened to the McDonalds Kiwiburger song on Youtube and used the pictures to help us write a list of all the things kiwis love!! Here is a video of one of our groups performing their song! Well done Room 1 kids.
